The Story Behind Shane’s Tech Rescue

Shane’s Tech Rescue isn’t just a repair service — it’s a mission built from survival, purpose, and a commitment to helping the community. This is the story behind the man who started it all.

Who I Am

My name is Shane, and I’m the owner of Shane’s Tech Rescue and the founder of the Community Tech Program. I’m a husband, a dad, and someone who believes deeply in giving back to the people around me.

In 2017, my life changed forever. I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm — something that should have taken me from this world. The recovery was long, painful, and humbling. I missed moments with my newborn son. I had to relearn simple things. But I also gained something: clarity.

I realized I was still here for a reason.

The Story That Started It All

In September 2017, I came close to losing everything — my life, my family, and the chance to watch my children grow. After days of misdiagnosis, emergency transfers, and time in the ICU, I made it through. I even made it to my wife’s hospital room with minutes to spare to witness the birth of our youngest son.

I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it because it’s the foundation of why I do what I do. That moment showed me that my time here matters, and I want to use it to help others.

Why I Started Shane’s Tech Rescue

In late 2023, I began repairing donated tech — old, broken, unused, or forgotten devices. I cleaned them, refurbished them, repaired them, and gave them back to people who needed them. No funding. No sponsors. Just community support and a desire to help.

Since then, we’ve donated laptops, tablets, phones, game consoles, cables, monitors, and more. We’ve helped seniors stay connected, students complete schoolwork, job seekers apply online, and individuals with special needs access tools that change their daily lives.

This isn’t just a repair business. It’s a purpose.

How We Fund This Program

We do not receive grants or outside financial support. Instead, we use funds from our paid repair services to help cover the cost of parts, tools, replacement components, and transportation for the donation program. When you choose Shane’s Tech Rescue for a repair, you directly help support this community effort.

The Community Tech Program

The Community Tech Program exists because technology shouldn’t be a luxury. It should be accessible to everyone. We take donated tech, refurbish it, and give it back to the community — free of charge — to anyone who needs it.

We can only give out what comes in, and while we can’t help everyone, we help everyone we can.

Who We Help
  • Seniors who need devices for appointments and communication
  • Students who need technology for school
  • Individuals with special needs
  • Families facing financial hardship
  • Anyone who needs a working device to stay connected

Every device donated becomes a chance for someone to move forward.

Why This Matters

I believe that every person deserves dignity, connection, and opportunity. Technology plays a huge role in that today. When you donate tech, you’re not just giving away a device — you’re giving someone a chance.

This program is my way of giving back. It’s my purpose. It’s the value I bring to this world outside of being a father and husband.

How You Can Help

If you have old tech lying around — computers, tablets, phones, game consoles, controllers, smart watches, smart home devices, or 3D printers — consider donating it. We’ll refurbish it, recycle what we can, and give it to someone who truly needs it.

Every donation makes a difference.

Thank you for supporting Shane’s Tech Rescue and the Community Tech Program.
